Health Fitness Guide – Thoughts, The Foundation For All Health And Fitness Achievement

Jeff Baker asked:

“Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe it can achieve” – W. Clement Stone

Like any learned skill, there are certain basics that must be mastered first. The very bedrock upon which all health and fitness achievement rests are thoughts. Everything man-made in the world or any action you’ve taken in the past all started with a thought. There is not one man-made object or goal that didn’t start as a thought in someone’s head that was then made into reality. Your toaster, your TV, your automobile, your desire for better health.

A single thought ultimately transformed into physical reality.

In order to achieve any health or fitness goal you must start with this basic concept; thoughts are things. Thoughts are the foundation upon which you build the framework for attainment of your goal. Every thought has a physical manifestation in our bodies; every thought produces physical substances called neuro-transmitting enzymes that have instant effects on how we feel and who we are at the cellular level.

Don’t believe me? Think of biting into a big, juicy lemon or think about fingernails slowly running down a chalk board and tell me you didn’t have an immediate, physical response.

Or how about a thought that changed the world?

Every day, thousands of times a day, all over the world people fly from destination to destination. It’s amazing that a person can step into a device that lifts them off the ground and flies through the air at great speed sometimes over great distances safely carrying them to their destination in a matter of minutes or hours! Only a bit over a hundred years ago that would have been considered impossible or a miracle. Yet it happens every day today and it started with a thought in someone’s head that man could fly. On December 17th, 1903 the thought that man had had for generations to fly, became reality.

That is the power of thoughts!

If you can have that kind of immediate response from such a simple thought, just imagine what you can accomplish with a focused, burning desire backed by faith and persistence!

Life isn’t fair or normal, there’s just life. But that should be a comforting thought. If life were fair all things would be equal and all people would be equal. The logical conclusion is that there could be no social movement up or down, no bettering of yourself nor worsening, no getting healthier, just stagnation. Because life isn’t fair it means you have the ability to control whether you improve your life or make it worse but at least you have the ability to make change.

What about external influences which you have no control over? Say your significant other is killed in a car accident or you become paraplegic in a skiing accident. The list could go on and on. But there is one thing you have total control over.

Viktor E. Frankl, a concentration camp survivor, put it best in his book “Man’s Search for Meaning,”

“The one thing you can’t take away from me is the way I choose to respond to what you do to me. The last of one’s freedoms is to choose ones attitudes in any given circumstance.”

The only absolute freedom you have is choosing how you react to life. And how you choose starts with a thought.

Who you are right now is the sum total of what you’ve thought about up to this moment. If you’re not satisfied with who you are right now, the good news is who you will be from now on is entirely up to you. Change your thoughts and you can start changing yourself. If you want to lose weight or be more fit, it all starts with a thought.

Health and Fitness Lies Part 1

Craig Pepin Donat asked:

y has taught us anything, it is that when an industry exhibits the potential for growth, people and companies exploit the opportunity. The fitness industry has transformed into a multi-billion dollar juggernaut with highly trained sales and marketing snipers who have their cross hairs on your cash.

Although the expansions of this industry and advances in modern technology have helped usher in a new era of quality health and fitness products, they have also opened the door for liars and con artists who could care less about your health. The trick is to understand how to maneuver through the marketing madness to find the truth.

Sadly, the number of people who fall victim to unrealistic quick-fix solutions is in the tens of millions. All the while, companies that sell ineffective products that will never help you acheive your goals, get rich at your expense. Beyond the scams and rip-offs designed to separate you from your hard-earned cash, there are people, companies, industries and even government agencies with hidden agendas designed to sabotage your attempts to improve your health. It’s not a conspiracy theory; it is simply the undeniable truth that you will see once the facts are known.

There is no shortage of people who stand to profit from those who do not know the truth, and they will do everything possible to refute the facts. Remember, when it comes to big industry and their profits, the fix is in: billions are spent to keep consumers in the dark. You will need to rely on the one thing that marketing cannot spin your common sense.

Let’s start with a simple truth that helps feed the big, fat health and fitness lie. That truth is that the average person would much prefer to go on a diet or take a pill rather than exercise. This is why the fitness industry at $19 billion in annual revenue pales in comparison with the diet and weight loss industry, which exceeds $40 billion. Even the supplement industry, with more than $20 billion in annual revenue, outperforms the fitness industry.

Yet with a success rate of sustained weight loss as low as 5 percent, more than 50 million Americans line up each year to go on a diet. Why? The answer was simple. When people think about exercise, they relate it to work. Even the phrase we use to describe exercise is to “work out.” The truth is that the average American spends the majority of waking life working. Who wants more work? We want to play. We want to relax. We want to escape from the reality of work, Exercise is the last thing we want to do. Instead, we want a quick fix solution, and the desire for fast results is an open invitation for health and fitness parasites. But this is just the tip of the iceberg.

The smoking gun that reveals the real truth about the state of health in the U.S. is the sky rocketing revenue within the pharmaceutical industry. Between 1995 and 2005, prescription drug sales increased by 249 percent to a staggering $251 billion on more than 3.6 billion prescriptions that are written annually. This doesn’t include the $17 billion we spent on over 100,000 over-the-counter drugs that have in excess of 1,000 synthetic chemical compounds.

As you peel back the layers of the lie, you quickly realize that these record-breaking numbers were made possible by drugs that treat conditions and diseases, which are largely self-inflicted or forced upon us by accomplices that stand to profit from our ill health.

The Power of Creative Daydreaming for Health and Fitness

Laurence Magne asked:

Most of us were taught that daydreaming was a waste of time and that we should concentrate our mental energies on the “here and now”. Rarely is it mentioned that some of the greatest advancements in human history were the result of someone’s daydream.

For instance, Albert Einstein worked out many of the details of his Special Theory of Relativity in daydreams. Thomas Edison would have never invented half of the things he did were it not for his active imagination and the daydreams he had about the possibilities that electricity held. Stephen King taps the power of his daydreams to create the immense stories for which he is so famous. In psychoanalysis, patients are healed in large part using a process of a directed daydream.

When we engage ourselves in daydreaming, there are a couple of things that happen. First of all, we generally allow our mind to shift focus away from the world around us and focus it specifically on the subject of our daydream. When our mind is focused intensely, there is an increase in the power of our thoughts.

In the intensity of mind that can be achieved by someone who is good at daydreaming, something else happens too. A doorway is opened between your mind and the mind of God.

When you open this doorway between your mind and the mind of God, you get a sensation of strength and assurance that everything will be okay. It’s almost like you have grown in some way that makes you powerful and wise. Usually, you will also feel a sense of compassion and acceptance for the frailties of humanity.

There are several ways you can use the power of creative daydreaming to manifest health and fitness in your life.

You could ask for a guide in your creative daydream to take you to the future. Once there, you can pay attention to new techniques that you are not aware of, that can help you with your health and fitness.

If you are faced with a dilemma, you can go into a creative daydream and explore possible solutions to that problem. When working in a creative daydream, you can ask for an expert in this area to give you more information that you can use to solve your problem. This expert will usually show you what to do, and more importantly, explain why it works.

Creative daydreaming can be used to help reprogram your inner beliefs to aid in your attraction of greater prosperity. Beliefs are usually based on past experiences, but are sometimes based on the results of your imagination playing out various possibilities. In a creative daydream, you have the option to create your own experiences from which to form new beliefs. In this way, you can create ‘memories’ of a healthy life with increased vitality, and create a strong set of memories of being fit.
